Homemade Cashew Milk

Cashew Milk

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups raw cashews
  • 5-6 cups water
  • 2 packets stevia
  • 1 Tablespoon gluten-free vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • salt, dash
  • Cheese cloth (optional)

Directions:

Step 1 – Soak Cashews for 4-8 hours in filtered water, in blender. Make sure to use enough water to cover nuts entirely.

Step 2 – Drain water and add 3 cups new filtered water to blender. Blend together until nuts are ground completely smooth.

Step 3 – Add in stevia, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt and blend for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4 – (Optional) If nuts are not completely ground, strain milk through cheesecloth.

Step 5 – Pour into mason jar with lid and store in refrigerator. Cashew milk should keep up to 7 days, depending on the temperature of your refrigerator.

*Note – You can change the thickness of this milk by changing the quantity of milk. Less water = more creamy (2% or whole milk), More water = less creamy (Skim or 1% milk)
