Mocha Chocolate Cinnamon Smoothie Bowl

There’s a whole NEW kind of smoothie that’s gone viral lately and it’s called the SMOOTHIE BOWL!

Sounds delish? That’s because it is! 

What’s the difference? Not TOO much really except smoothie bowls are usually made a bit thicker so you eat them with a spoon instead of drinking them.

So without further ado, I introduce to you my very first smoothie bowl recipe. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Mocha Chocolate Cinnamon Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I used Orgain Creamy Chocolate Fudge)
  • 3/4 cup cashew milk
  • 1/4 cup brewed coffee or 2 coffee ice cubes (Just brew coffee, pour into ice cube trays, cover and freeze! I use these trays from amazon.com because I love that they have a lid).
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 banana or 1/4 avocado
  • liquid stevia, to taste
  • handful of ice (depends on how thick you want it)

Topping Ideas:

  • 1/4 sliced banana
  • unsweetened coconut flakes
  • cacao nibs
  • cinnamon
  • toasted almond slivers

Directions:

Mix first 6 ingredients together in your favorite blender (I used my Nutri Ninja Pro) and add in ice until you get your desired consistency. Garnish with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

For more variations try mixing in 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1 cup spinach or 2 tbsp of your favorite nut butter.

  1. I love smoothie bowls! I’ve been having them for years but didn’t know until today that they had a name. I love being able to eat them with a spoon (as opposed to drinking) as it gives more of a sense of eating a meal. This one sounds delicious!
