Italian Lemon Hemp Heart Hummus featuring my favorite hemp seeds from Manitoba Harvest

Disclosure: I received a sample of Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts to review and give away through my partnership with FitApproach.  As always, all opinions are my own. Full PR & Disclosure here

One of my FAVORITE superfoods on the planet is hemp hearts. They’re soooo yummy you’ll often find me eating them right out of the bag!

Haven’t heard of them? Here’s a quick breakdown:

  1. Hemp hearts are fruit inside hemp seeds.
  2. When eaten raw they are packed full of nutrition. Just one 30 gram serving has 10 grams of protein and 10 grams of omegas!
  3. They’re lower in carbohydrates than chia and flax and they’re non-GMO & vegan-friendly (and perfect as a substitute for those allergic to soy).
  4. You can eat them right out of the bag! They have a slightly nutty taste, so just sprinkle & enjoy on your favorite salad, soup or smoothie!

This hummus is amazing! Love the italian lemon!!

I typically choose the salad route for my daily dose of hemp hearts, but today I wanted to take my hemp to the next level. This recipe is so easy and such a great choice for a healthy snack. All you need are a few ingredients, a food processor or blender and something to dip! But don’t take my word for it – try it out yourself and leave a comment below (and don’t forget to enter to win your own bag of hemp hearts from Manitoba Harvest).
