It’s all about the {Stitch} Fix

As you all know from my Bluum post, I love me some monthly subscription boxes!

One of my all-time favorite boxes is Stitch Fix and I’m going to share with you exactly why I’ve used this service 19 times over the last 2-3 years and why I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! This goes for you too guys because Stitch Fix Men is now here!

In a nutshell, this personalized service makes me feel like I’m living on the upper east side (without the hefty price tag).

I get a stylist that actually listens to my concerns, looks at my style profile and pays attention to my requests and VIOLA! Like magic, a box lands on my doorstep with my personal fix of 5 clothing items & accessories unique just to me that meet my budget, my taste and my lifestyle. I buy what I like and send back what I don’t. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

When I was a size 4, I loved this service. Then I got pregnant.

Well guess what? They carry maternity clothes. For real! I loved the service even more!

Now, I just had a baby, I’m size HUGE and guess what? They still can style me!! I fell in love all over again. ❤

They even carry petite AND now men’s so there’s really no reason not to try it!

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN A LITTLE FURTHER SO YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY HOW IT WORKS:

  • First, you gotta take your style quiz. This is the main information your stylist is going to use when customizing your box. You’ll go through your sizes, how you like your clothes to fit and what your style is. There’s even a section that you can check off what you don’t like or want which is perfect if you’re not in the mood for animal prints or faux fur.

  • Next, you’ll pick your date you want to receive it and anxiously await its arrival.
  • Once it arrives the fun begins! When you open the box  you’ll see your goodies all wrapped up, along with a bag to send back the unwanted items and an envelope with a note from your stylist along with pictures for ideas of how to wear your pieces in multiple ways. You’ll also receive a price breakdown of each garment and/or accessory.

I personally LOVE the little note each stylist writes because I can always tell if they paid attention to my requests.

For this particular box, I asked for items for fall that I could wear comfortably until I got my pre-baby body back. She didn’t disappoint as you’ll see.

  • Once you open your tissue wrapped goodies it’s time to try it all on! Here’s my 3 tops & 1 dress I received and a super cute bag from Tom’s which she thought would be perfect for traveling with the new baby (she was right). The boxes aren’t limited to tops and dresses. In the past I’ve received jeans, shorts, shoes, earrings, necklaces, scarves, outerwear…you name it and I’ve got it. This month, though, I just wanted something specifically to hide this post-baby belly!

  • When all is said and done you pick out what you want to keep and put the returns into the prepaid bag then drop in your mailbox or the nearest USPS location. You have 5 days to decide. Once you’re ready to check out you’ll log onto StitchFix.com, rate each fix and then finish the transaction.
  • When you’re done you can set up automatic monthly shipments, leave a note for your next stylist & fix or just leave it all as is until you want to do it again. If you do continue, there’s a $20 styling fee that they collect. That $20 goes towards your next fix. Plus if you purchase all 5 pieces, you’ll get 20% off you’re entire order.
  • You’ll also be taken to a screen that allows you to share your own referral link. If a friend tries it out, you’ll get $25 towards your next fix!

So that is the beauty behind Stitch Fix.

  1. I used to get a box monthly and had to cut back to every couple months because I was racking up clothes in my closet and also spending money I probably shouldn’t have!
I like that you can update the settings to receive your fix whenever you want it next!

  3. I have actually never done anything like this before. For me, when I have to buy clothes, I need to touch and feel them but this seems like a great idea and a great time saver.

  10. This sounds like a great idea! I generally like shopping where I can see the clothes and try them on first, but I can see where this can be appealing too!

  12. I love this idea. I’ve been reading a lot about it. I work on a farm so it doesn’t work for me but for office professionals I say go for it.
