I hope you all have enjoyed the hundreds of chocolate recipes so far!

Last week I kicked off #Choctoberfest with a twist on a classic. Click here to get the recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Skillet S’mores if you missed it.

So this week I thought I’d take a more healthy approach and feature one of the #Choctoberfest sponsors: BARLEAN’S.

I hadn’t heard of Barlean’s before this event, but after trying their products, it’s a name that will become a staple in our household. Their mission is to create a pathway to better life and they do that by donating a significant amount of their corporate profits to those less fortunate. To read more on Barlean’s click here.

Let’s start with what goodies I received: Barlean’s Greens Powder Chocolate Silk Flavor, Essential Woman Omega Swirl Chocolate Mint Flavor and Butter Flavored Organic Coconut Oil.

  • Barlean’s Greens Powder in Chocolate Silk Flavor: They should have named this Super greens powder because the health factor is through the roof! Firstly, let me say that my 5 year old son LOVED this so that confirms the awesome chocolate taste. As for the healthy stuff Mom’s love, it’s dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free and non-GMO. It’s packed with antioxidants and fruits and vegetables such as fair trade cocoa, strawberry, broccoli, spinach, spirulina, goji and acai powder, to name a few. The Vegan formula is also alkalinized to energize you and there are no added sugars.

  • Essential Woman Omega Swirl Chocolate Mint Flavor: If you would have told me that this stuff was good for me, I would have called you a liar. It has the taste and consistency of chocolate syrup!! It is, in fact AMAZINGLY GOOD FOR YOU as it’s made with flaxseed oil, evening primrose oil and special plant phytonutrients. 1 serving gives you Omegas 3, 6, and 9 and GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid). It also promotes hormonal balance and is Vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO. If I didn’t need to come up with a recipe today, I’m sure I would have just poured this straight from the bottle into my mouth!

  • Butter Flavored Organic Coconut Oil: I’m over the moon about this coconut oil. At first, I imagined just using it for popcorn, but it’s good for so much more! You can actually use this as a butter substitute (1:1) in anything that cooks under 375°F. It’s Vegan, non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, has NO TRANS FATS or HYDROGENATED FATS, is CHOLESTEROL FREE, and doesn’t smell like coconut. The minute you open it, butter aroma fills the room! This little gem is going to be put to good use this holiday season!

Now that you’ve got the scoop on some of their products it’s time to put them to good use!

Today’s recipe features there Greens Powder and Chocolate Mint Omega Swirl in a super healthy smoothie that will start your day off right!

Enjoy your chocolatey goodness and don’t forget to look below the recipe for links to more #Choctoberfest deliciousness!
